There will be a price adjustment on Microsoft certification exams in July 2016. Microsoft is notifying customers and partners well in advance on April 25, 2016. This list of FAQs will address additional questions as more information becomes available.

Windows 10: What's coming in 2016


What comes next for Windows 10? If 2015 was a year of revolution, 2016 promises to be a year of consolidation for Microsoft's operating system.

Windows is now delivered "as a service", meaning incremental updates with new features as well as security patches, but Microsoft still seems works internally to a schedule of milestone releases. Windows 10 has had two so far, the initial July 2015 release codenamed Threshold, and the November update called Threshold 2.

Microsoft have now made it easier for you to show off your skills to potential clients and employers through your Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Profile Page.

The new MCP Profile Page replaces the old "virtual business card" system with a modern, customisable on-line page. You can create your public profile to highlight your skills but maintain your privacy with granular control over exactly how much info you share. The new MCP Profile Page integrates with LinkedIn, Twitter, Google Plus, and other social media sites for one-click sharing of your Microsoft Certifications.

The retirement date of Microsoft Lync 2013 exams have been moved to November 30, 2015. This is good news for those who want to achieve Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Communication in this calendar year.

Lync 2013 Exams are Retiring in July 2015


Everything Lync is becoming Skype for Business. Lync exams are scheduled for retirement in July 2015, and will be replaced by Skype for Business exams. The new Skype for Business exams will count toward MCSE: Communication certification like the Lync 2013 exams currently do.

Last call for Microsoft's Second Shot



When opportunity knocks, be ready to act. And when that opportunity is a Second Shot at passing a Microsoft Certification Exam, you need to act twice as fast!

The Second Shot offer provides a free retake exam if you do not pass your exam the first time. If you purchase a Microsoft Certification exam pack using the Second Shot offer, you will have one (and only one) retake for each of the exams in the exam pack. With Second Shot, if you fail your exam the first time you take it, you can use the same voucher for your retake exam.

Take any applicable Microsoft Certification exam before May 31, 2015 and, if you don't pass, you'll have 30 days to schedule a "retake" of the exam for free.

In order to stay relevant alongside the changing demands of project management professionals the PMP exam is being updated, on 1st November 2015 the PMP exam will be changing. The five domains of practice for the PMP remain the same. However, tasks within each domain have been modified, added, or removed.

Microsoft to stop producing Windows versions


Windows 10 is going to be the last major revision of the operating system.

Jerry Nixon, a Microsoft development executive, said in a conference speech this week that Windows 10 would be the "last version" of the dominant desktop software.

His comments were echoed by Microsoft which said it would update Windows in future in an "ongoing manner".
