    Windows Vista: Got Hardware Advice?

With Windows Vista just around the corner, customers may be looking at new hardware to run the next generation OS. We want to know: Are you getting a lot of questions from customers about what kinds of PCs, monitors and such they should buy so they'll be in position for Windows Vista upgrades? What do you tell them in advance of concrete guidance from Microsoft? Has Microsoft's broad guidance been enough for you? Let me know your thoughts on this issue and you may be quoted in an upcoming Redmond Channel Partner article. Share your comments by using the form below or e-mail me directly at [email protected]. Thanks!

Nice post Trip - just had my first call tonight from someone (my bro, actually) asking about buying a new machine to see through the next few years. When advising on spec and performance, my first thoughts were being Vista-ready, and the software that will doubtless accompany it.

      Thanks for bringing this :thumbleft

yeah sorry Trip, I was kinda winding you up to see if I could bring the answer to me via you rather than seeking it myself. I know how much you love searching for information

If I can find the info, I will post it here. It would be nice to know the rough minimum spec to run Vista. I am selling high end laptops and I would like to know if they can be upgraded to the latest Microsoft OS when the time comes.

Why do I see in my future, a migration from Windows XP to Linux? :evil

I know what you mean, I do not possess a computer that could run this OS, even though I do own four decent working fast PCs
