    Microsoft Unveils Official Name for "Longhorn":



    Today Microsoft announced the official name of its next-generation Windows® client operating system, formerly code-named "Longhorn."

    Microsoft also announced that Beta 1 of Microsoft Vista, targeted at developers and IT professionals, will be available by August 3rd 2005.

      I've heard somewhere that vista is going to be an annual subscription based licence. Anyone know if this is true?

      I think Vista means buggy and will take 2 years to fix with patches :blink

      Is it just me or after watching the launch video clip do you think they all got rather over excited !!! :biggrin

      I presume they are abandoning the 2000, 2003 naming set-up so they dont have to ditch all their marketing crap the next time they overrun by a couple of years. :D
