    Eurgh!

I had no idea how tiring working through a weekend could be. I've literally only just began to have the time to post on my favourite forums again due to the hell that was 'intergration' weekend.

I ended up working 31 hours and I felt like death.

To all those who frequently work through their weekends, I salute you! You're hard as nails.

Anyways, I'm back! :) Time to get that posting count up...Sure you all missed me :p

Swings and roundabouts. I've come back to work for a rest after my weekend "off". It took 3 of us 2 full days to erect a greenhouse. Looks fab, though!

I kinda like working weekends, used to have to in my old job, now just do it when I dont want anyone under my feet when working on something. Nice overtime rates too!

I suppose it depends on your personal circumstances.

I used to work alternate weekends (before kids came along) and it was great because you got to take your days off in the week when everyone else was in work.

Nice quiet trip into town, empty cinemas, pub all to yourself...

Nothing worse than being off when everyone else is.

Do you? Depends what police force you work for. The one I worked for not only didn't pay overtime - I didn't even get TOIL most of the time I worked OOOH. In fact, I once worked nearly 48 hours straight after a security 'incident' and got one day in lieu off for it.

Now my role is senior enough that my salary compensates me adequately enough not to quibble about overtime - but I always get TOIL if I go above and beyond - case in point being last year when the MPLS went down at our data centre because a switch port went bandy - I drove there at 2AM, fixed it and was back in bed at 4.30AM - and still got given a day off in the week without even asking for it.
