So which of you are going to splurge for a Wii Fit then?

Have to love the Penny Arcade comic about this.

They were advertising them for £55 in my local Tesco but you couldn't reserve one. I might get one in a few months time as I've just spent £600 on a media center PC.

Actually that looks pretty interesting. I think the yoga is out though. I really don't like the idea of ending with my own foot stuck up my arse or something broken.

I don't see the point to be honest. If you want to get fit go for a walk or something, me I'd rather have a curry and some beer :p

    Christ. I'm dying!!!!!

The missus decided that she wanted to get a Wii with Wii Fit. So we've now got one, and had about 30 mins each day.

Apparently. I'm obese! I certainly wouldnt associate my form with Obese. Overweight certainly, but not obese. Thats according to the BMI of course.

It's actually quite fun, and you get scores, which are on a (shared) leaderboard for each game. It certainly introduces a competitive element to the exercising.

I was surprised you don't have to be that overweight to be obese.

when a lot of these tv programs and the news talk about been obese .. really there talking about morbidly obese.

But i normally get my daily exercise changing the channel when such programs are on. :D

... have you lost any weight from it?

I was down 1lb on the first day, but apparently you can fluctuate from +-2lbs in any given day.

I'm only just on what they classify as Obese. Various reviews also seem to indicate that its a bit like brain training. not something to take too seriously. Although using the weight they gave me here agrees with the obesity rating. need to have a BMI of 30-39 to be considered obese: mines is 30.02.

Its relatively fun though. worth a shot if nothing else.

I know someone that lost a stone in ~12-14 weeks by playing a wii 40 mins a day.
Thats impressive if you hate other forms of exercise.

For the wii fit to live up to its name i would expect to do significantly better

I think the game is a fantastic idea...some believe F*** that im not working out, but the whole exercise thing is apparently quite fun and its supposed to be a fantastic "game". I might get one on preowned or something because £60 for a game is a tad too much. I guess it depends on the way you look at it, as its not really a game in many respects.

Its several games I think and a peripheral.

I don't think its that much, when you think that some decent digital scales are nearly on 30 pounds these days.

I just lost a stone, by adding 2 long walks a week (6 miles plus each), I also cut out beer as i was drinking too much in the evenings (I still have one or two at weekends)... luckily I eat well.. a home cooked meal everyday, fruit and fresh veg.
