    Hi Guys!

With all this talk about the UK recession and trying to actually get out it....

When did the recession start? and how long have have we been in it?

I have obviously 'googled' it but get different answers. Wikipedia (lol) says: It Started Jan 2008 - Ongoing (Forecast Recovery 2010-11)... So about 16 months now!

    Any other opinions out there?

Officially, in the UK, the recession started on Friday the 23rd of Jan 2009. However the UK started to feel the hit alittle while before that.

    Shouldn't that be "officially"?
We all know it started before those stats

What recession? My business is up 40% over this time last year and the only time I get a day off is when I'm so sick I can't crawl out of bed. It sure as hell wouldn't hurt my feelings if things backed off to 40 hours a week.

A recession is usually defined as two consecutive quarters of declining GDP, so in as far as it has a starting point, it would be in June 2008.
