So, currently Wintel BAU support, finding I work best when under pressure and not so happy when its not hitting the fan. My options are Technical Engineering or Design Architect, assuming I want to stay under the Wintel remit which I definitely do as I love the work.

Is anyone in a similar role to either of these? Tech eng produce our gold builds, mess with new tech, major incident response. Wintel Architects take the high level designs from our Technical / Solution Architects and translate that into low level designs, how its actually going to work.

I'm swaying toward architecture as I have the option of Technical or Solutions architect should I wish to stop getting my hands dirty but stay technical. Has anyone been in a similar boat?

Decisions decisions. Heres where I end up an estate agent ha ha (doesnt sound too bad some days!)

I just got a spam email about retraining to be a plumber… …maybe that is the future?
