D-Day did not stop germany over 2/3rd of the germanys army was already fighting the russians they would not be able to coordinate a successfull invasion of britian, D-Day stopped USSR from occupying germany and france.

Germany declared war on US in December 1941 so within a couple of months the USA managed to be so influential that they made the Russians hold and win at the battle of Stalingrad.

D-Day had no point the UK and Winston Churchill did not want D-Day he thought it was pointless.

I was going to study history at University.

I will give you if it was not for the USA, japan would not of been defeated so fast as the USA supplied most of the solders although the British navy was actually a big part in it. Most importantly the USA gathered the resources to build the nukes.
