This article is required reading for anyone who has been more than a little concerned with the steady stream of 'scienticians' who have crossed our screens in the last couple of weeks espousing the seemingly effortless ease with which would be Jihadists could blow a whole host of planes out of the sky with liquid explosives.

Anybody who has even a remote understanding of chemistry could tell you that was utter nonsense and - whilst the article is humorously intended, it does carry an excellent message about the media despicably contributing to mass panic when there is no scientific basis for suspecting the 'plot to commit mass murder on an unimaginable scale' was anything more than a group of idealistic, blasphemous yet mentally-challenged nutcases.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not attempting to defend their actions.

I just enjoyed reading the step-by-step debunking of the pseudo-science that has disgraced news bulleting in the UK for a fortnight

I seem to remeber reading somewhere that they were going to release snakes or something, rather than use bombs...

    Yeah, that'll be it.
I thought it was a bit over dramatic for the BBC news.
