VMworld Europe - Woohoo... or not :(

    Oh what an interesting day I am having.

    I have just arrived at work and been asked if I have my passport on me, looks like I may well be going to Barcelona :D

    Just waiting to hear about changes to existing tickets (name swap) and then I am booking my ticket :D

    Woohoo, I said last year I wanted to get to VMworld this year :D

    Annnnd all change.

    Because the hotel weren't willing to play ball I am now not going to VMworld, to say I am disappointed would be an understatement :(

    Needless to say I won't be staying at that chain of hotels in the future due to their complete lack of willingness to help (current guest is ill and can't make it but they are unprepared to swap guests).

    So a day of mixed emotions, from highs to lows :(

    Oh devestated for you mate, we all wanted to go this year too but couldnt get it sorted. Could you not pay for a cheap room yourself elsewhere in the city mate? Not great but Vmworld and flight still paid for plus expenses

    I shouldn't worry about it, there has to be at least a handful of us left in the country who knows vmware this week.

    Shame the chain of hotels. Go on. But don't dare besmerch my beloved Travelodge :D

    Agreed with JK, I'd pony up my own cash on a cheap hotel in order to get there.

    No, the flights would have been purchased after the hotel booking had been changed, so if the hotel had gone through the flights would have followed, for me to do this on my own would probably cost me just shy of £500, money I can't justify spending :(

    I almost had similar happen to me but luckily it went the other way so have a nice week in Japan at the end of the month :)

    Almost didn't happen as finance queried why did we have to send someone over rather than get someone there to do the work :p

    Dude, I was proper stocked when I saw your tweet about coming over.

    Shame that the hotel is being a complete plonker, would have been cool to have a geek off.
