I have just got a copy of VMware and intend to setup a lab to practice on, how do you all go about getting all the dummy data on for AD for example, without having to manually input each time.

Could you rephrase that please... I have found MS VirtualPC is be easier

 

the active directory performance testing tool let's you create a dummy organizational unit structure with as much dummy users as you want, and then stress test your environment.

 

Am i correct in assuming you use this tool to simulate what your network performance is?

anyone have more info.. tried googling and MS site but doesnt shed much light.. or is it me not understanding it?

 

the documentation is included in the download. it's not so much about network load, but more about active directory load, so basically how well your active directory performs when doing several kinds of queries within the given ou and account structure.

or you use it not for performance benchmarking, but for filling your ad with dummy accounts, which is what v_odd wanted.
