    Hi All,

It looks like Microsoft will be withdrawing the MCAS range of certs (and won't even start the MCAP range) for Office 2010. It seems that the MCAS range was too hard for alot of people so it looks like they will be going back to the MOS (Specialist, Expert, Master) range. However this will be confirmed later this year.

No the MCSA and the MCAS are two different tracks, if you're doing your MCSA 2003 you don't have anything to worry about :)

    Shame really.
I thought that MCAS/MCAP was adding a bit of weight to Office certification almost to the point of making it worth having.

I guess now we go back to the glorified typist certs.

If this turns out to be true, it is kind of sad to not to have my MCAS cert of Windows 7 hanging on the wall. :dry

Does this affect the Office 2007 range of MCAS exams as well? Just today I have been investigating into MCAS as my company is going to be rolling out Office 2007 across Europe and would like us to be certified in this as opposed to just going on a training course.

No, the MCAS range of certs will be for Office 2007, if MS do revert back to the MOS/MOUS it will be for Office 2010.

A Certiport/Microsoft instructor, he'll be going to a Microsoft conference in the next couple of months, this is where it'll be either confirmed or denied.

    Hey Ken

Can you double check with your source to see whether MCAS will stay for good in 2010 ??

    Please kindly advise.

Just got confirmation from MS about the changes with MOS/MCAS:

Waiting to hear back to see if those with the MCAS will automatically be changed to MOS or if those with MCAS will keep that credential.

Does any one have a inkling when the MOS 2003 will be retired ? .. I know its not on the retirement list at the moment

I am thinking of doing the MCAS 2007 and MOS 2003 side by side.

also is there a windows 7 business module to replace vista one (77-600) in the MCAS 2007 or will we have to wait for the 2010 range of certs?
