    Hi all,
have an old A22M and thought i would install XP on it as have a spare HDD (which is ok). Changed Boot to the usual and goes through 1st stage ok, then after 1st reboot following copying files it goes to press any key to boot from CD as we know, then just hangs there? Ummm........

As in SATA drivers if its a non slipstreamed version of XP.

I don't know if it's a SATA drive in the machine but if so then yes you will need SATA drivers because the original XP didn't support SATA out of the box, however a slipstreamed SP1 upwards version of XP will work straight away.

Thanks, but as i say its an old A22M. PATA. Never had a problem like this before, but just tried it on an old R31 aswell, exactly the same... Err, maybe the drive gone pear then, strange..

Just disabled network boot in bios, incase that had something to do with it. IDE controller prob... seems unlikely to be on both, but who knows..
