I'm seeing conflicting information here but can some one please confirm that the sp_farm account does NOT have to be in the local admin group on each server. The only time you would add to the local admin group is when setting up the user profile service and you can take it out when user profile has been configured.

I went on the microsoft 70-667 course and that states that the farm account needs to be in local admin but technet seems to say no.

I am studying for the 70-667 and all installs i do has the farm account as domain user and things seem to be working fine.

    Cheers

Looks like you have tested it yourself then. Perhaps a mistake in the 70-667 materials you are using?
