Server+ seems to be quite an old and neglected exam now.

Are CompTIA planning on bringing out a new one? Is the exam content still relevant?

It looks like Comptia are planning to release a new version sometime this year, see here.

Awesome. I'll try and get A+ and Network+ done before then, and then move on to Server+.

I'm just waiting for my passport to arrive otherwise I'd be sitting A+ today!

Well, it depends on how soon I do the A+. I'm hoping to do it in the first week of April. I don't see any point in waiting another 2 months to start learning (revising?) N+ if I don't have to!

The new N+ has a higher pass mark but doesn't have some of the older technologies in it.

Having just done the 2007 N+, I would say that 60% of my questions were on redundant and obsolete technologies. Had I paid £112 or whichever to take it, I'd be miffed.

    2009 will be more relevant.

To be honest, I think the older technologies would be more useful for me. I know a lot about the modern technologies, but very little about the legacy stuff, so it would be more beneficial for me to learn about the older stuff.

On your CV it looks exactly the same, but it's the knowledge that counts :D

Anyway, back on topic. Just purchased the Server+ Bible for £2.99 8)
