I did the courses for these exam about 7 years ago but never did the exams for one reason or another, and finally got back around to having time to do them again, and I'm just wondering were the exam changed much since the Microsoft Press Training kits were released.

I would also like to hear from any one who has sat these exams in the past 12 months for any tips they can give.

my study activities for these exams are to re-read the Training kits, 2003 inside out and 2003 resource kit. Use VirtualBox to run Server 2003 and re-do all the practices and so on.

Thanks in advance for any help ;)

Realistically, I'm not sure how anyone will be able to do that without breaking the NDA.

I'd have a look on the Microsoft Learning site as it explains all of the possible question-types that you now may come across.

You definitely need the latest version of the book, if nothing else. 7 years ago, you were probably looking at the first revision. Fortunately you can get the latest versions on amazon used for a couple of quid.

Good luck with the 291, it's a right bugger!

NDA? The Evaluation edition, loaded and activated without any problems

As for books I've ordered the 2nd edition of both books, just a case of waiting for them (so re-reading the old books.

I should have been more specific, I wasn't looking for questions asked or what the exam focused on. I was just querulous about textbooks used, video and practise exams used.

I passed the 70-290 by using the MS Press 2nd Edition, a few videos and Transcender, with a little lab work. Looking back on it now I should have done a lot more lab work as I hadn't really done much on previous exams and didn't realise the importance of it until I was in the test centre! I still managed to pass with a 729 and learnt a valuable lesson!

I'm doing the 291 as we speak, I'm just about finished with the book which I thought was a good solid read, hard to evaluate how good it was until I start doing a few Transcenders etc. I was surprised to see nothing/very little about WSUS in the book, which is on the exam objectives so I guess I'll have to find other resources for that! I'll probably do that and then move on to a few videos, IPSec threw me so that's a particular topic I need to do again.
