    Hey Guys,

Anyone know of a program or means of accessing Fedora remotely from an XP box ? Also, do you know if there is a Citrix equivalent for Fedora ?

Asking for a friend, so any help appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

Gav, do you mean Remote Desktop type access or just accessing the file system/structure type access?

Thanks Guys. We're talking full remote access here. File access isn't a problem at this stage.

To be honest Gav, I'm glad to see that Linux is getting some more commercial attention i.e. the likes of Symantec!

Just need some decent (new) games on the linux platform!

Glad to been of help Gav!

OK, my mate and I can now both connect remotely to his server using VNC. My next question - how do we logon to the fedora server under seperate user id sessions ? Also, what file you need to alter to make VNC Server start at start up ?

vnc does not support multi user sessions, as far as i know. it gives you screen access to the console, much like dameware does on the windows platform.
maybe you're looking for something like this http://ltsp.org/, or this http://www.nomachine.com/?

you can often set vnc servers to 'not kick off other vnc users' but that means your both vieing for control of the mouse

the situation you described definatly seemed more like a freenx issue, especially when you mentioned citrix :)

freenx, like citrix, enables X sessions to be run across slow wan links, whilst providing a full terminal server environment

nxserver commercial is a bit more padded than the freenx counterpart (its a bit behind the commercial version)
but you can pick up the commercial version personal edition for 60 usd
    cant really go wrong there

as for the runlevel, i have no idea on fedora
i just go rc-update add xvnc default
    lol
if you have the gui they have a runlevel editor there too

Just wanted to thank you all for your input on this Thread. VNC has been ditched in favour of freenx (cheers, Ryan).

We'll be testing this soon, so should let you know :)
