Hi all,

Just a quick question, can anyone recommend a good ASA configuration / administrators handbook? Preferably something you have used and would advise others to use?

I'm not looking at the certification (CCNP Firewall) just a good reference for day to day administration. I do have quite an experienced background in firewall administration but mainly across Juniper ScreenOS and Checkpoint deployments, so the fundamental concepts I already have, just need something to reference now and again on the Cisco front.

I like the following Cisco press manuals for this:

"Cisco ASA All-in-one Firewall, IPS, Anti-X and VPN Adaptive Security Applicance", this deals with 8.2 and earlier, nice book, simple examples

For the 8.3 and Later go for Cisco press "CCNP Security FIREWALL 642-618"

If you have a couple of ASA to play with these are the books to use.

Yes I have a few at work that are coming in useful for client failover VPN backups. Would be great to master this firewall, it seems to be used in nearly all organisations somewhere!
