no BSOD, re-starts or error messages and the only thing i can find is an unsigned driver for an Epson printer. I have clicked on the link in event viewer but presented with the help and support page saying sorry..... try a help group etc... any ideas?

Any ideas as to what the service is that it is having problems with?

Has this problem just started? If so you could try some basic troubleshooting like system restore etc. 8)

no, it is an ongoing problem on a customers... the trouble is it happens once in a blue moon....
The MS article suggests that the problem is because Help and Support services are disabled- in this case they aren't.
I could remove the only driver not support by SP2 but that would leave them without a printer....

I've seen another article that talks about this in another context here .

It suggests a way of finding which service is blocking later services from starting.
