Questions to ask at a Helpdesk job interview?

    Hi All

    Just looking for some tips as I'm going for a helpdesk interview tomorrow.

    So what are some good questions to ask the interviewer?

    On average how many calls does a person take a day?

    How many people work on the help desk team?

    What hours does the help desk operate?

    What is the retention rate of an employee on the tier level (1st or 2nd) that you would be workin on?

    (How long to people stay until they move on) ... see my most recent post on 'helpdesk work'.

    "Do I have to use troubleshooting scripts? Is it permissible to deviate from the script if I have already identified the problem and believe it will lead to a more efficient resolution of the ticket?"

    Hi All

    Nailed it. I start a week on Monday doing helpdesk work for a major, international bank.

    The interview itself was mostly HR, teamwork based questions and the role is a more advanced helpdesk one where the agent is encouraged to solve problems rather than just "log and escalate".

    So I'm fair pleased.

    Will post how I get on
