    Hi
About 3 months ago I brought a second hand Cisco 3550-24 switch for £400, which was about the going rate.

I am now going to sell it because I have access to a lab at work.

The going rate now seems to be about £250!

Why would the price have suddenly dropped?! is it credit crunch, or something more to do with networking.

    Im quite disappointed really!

    Thanks

all electronic equipment devalues over time. Just like cars, etc.

Hell, you cant even expect to buy a book and sell it on for the same money.

Yes, but a devaluation of 30% in 3 months is pretty bad and is more than I'd have expected really

It's all supply and demand. When new models are released, old models begin to glut the used market, and the price drops. Sometimes you just get hit with bad timing. It happens.

Aren't the 3550s coming up end of sale/life soon ?
One of our clients has a load of them and I'm sure they are not far off, could possibly be a reason..
