Today I sat the 291 exam and well an interesting exam it is. I had a total of 40 questions with 8 simulations.

Funny how that was organized, the first 5 questions were multiple choice and the next eight in the row from 6-13 were all simulation questions. I never had that before, usually the simulation questions are spready out, but not in this case.

Simulation questions I found were easy, I am really good at hands on stuff so for me it worked out, I actually would of liked more simulation questions.

I also had a few multiple answer questions. Of course without breaking the NDA, I don't want to say what type of questions but they definitely make you think, almost trick questions actually.

My passing score was 785 which is better than what I got on the 290 (756).

To be quite honest, I got all the question right on RRAS... Considering I knew least about the topic.

What I did to prepare is basically read the book cover to cover and watch all the CBT nugget videos... I didn't reall take any notes because it's just not how I do thins and I also knew quite a bit about the topics from work experience so it made it easier.

I spent about a month in total preparing for it and now I will definitely be taking a break before going for the MCSE. I have to do VMWare training at work for the next 3-4 months so I don't want to crunch everything in.

To those who are taking the exam good luck and honestly I passed it on the first try so if you understand the topic well, I am sure you'll do well! Just keep at it and if not don't give up, it is definitely a challenging exam!

Now I can say I am an MCSA!

I took my last week and was the same first 10 were multi choice then 8 simulation questions in a row.
