    Hey People

I am a MCSE 2003 and IT Pro for 8 years. I have just accepted a job with a Software House as an Tech consultant. They mentioned that they would be happy to cross train me for dev. I enjoy my role as a System Admin, especially with the Vmware, terminal services and exchange work I specialise in, however I need to keep learning.

I would like to learn more dev stuff and at some point become a certfied Dev, I am sure with the grounding I have it shouldn`t take me that long.

The question I have is where do I start? I use a lot of batch files and at the moment I`m learning Monad. Should I just go for an exam? Maybe DBA?

Would doing the SQL2005 exams be the best start or should I do teh 2000 exams ? Any info on books or ebooks would be gratefully received.
