My name is Rob and I am about to launch myself into the ciw master designer course. Has anyone here done this course or undergoing training at the moment, and if you have any tips or advice about the course it would be a great help.

Greetings, Rob. Welcome to CF. No experience with that cert but I'm the technical writer and site admin for a group of software engineers so I have at least some of the skill sets targeted by the CIW cert series.

My advice is why wait? Start practicing now. I don't know what your background is but if you know little or nothing about web design, pick up some good books on html, css, and javascript and get started.

In my "spare" time, I write book reviews on a number of technical topics so you can read about which books I'd recommend (and which I wouldn't) by visiting my Reviews page. Choose "Web Design" under the Reviews menu on the bottom left of the page and have a look. Cheers.
