YAY! Good news for me today - had an interview for what would be (different name used, but essentially that) a system administrators role within another government department and found out today that I was accepted!

Maybe a little more cash, but if not definitely more experience hands-on work with some blades, networking, exchange, sms, epo, sharepoint, and thats just for starters! But was told it was a 1st/2nd and even some 3rd line work - which is where I want to aim for!

Due to security checks, it'll be anywhere between 3 and 9 months before I start - but plenty of time to get cracking on 70-270 and 290 hopefully before I start.

    YAY! :alc :clap 8)

    Congrats!

but a 3 to 9 months wait for security checks is a bit excessive! My SC clearence only took 3 weeks and I'm positive that DV is about 6 weeks.

    Is the offer in writing?

Thanks for the congrats guys - part of the terms and conditions is of course getting the clearance - "DV and then some" is a fair way of putting it, but even DV's are taking at least 4/5 months average at the mo (a few colleagues are having their clearance renewed and thats taking 2-3 months and they've already got it!). The other part is during the mean time I'm staying within my same role that I am now but must go to our other 2nd line teams and basically leech knowledge and experience from them before I step into my proper role! I get the feeling its going to be a long 6 or so months!
