    Hello everyone,

I have just discovered this very interesting site and am sure i will find it very useful if i decide to study for the a+.
I know very little about what is involved with a+ but was wondering how long it might take to learn and pass the exams doing it the self study way.
I am single and have plenty of spare time on my hands.
    :)

Hi and welcome to CF! :biggrin

The length of time required will depend very much on your experience and current knowledge. I did A+ in 2 months, but then I've been involved in PCs for more than 20 years. It was the first exam I had taken in even longer - so I took it slow!

At the other end of the experience spectrum - if you are new to PCs expect it to take 6 months or more depending on your aptitude.

    Harry.

    Welcome! :biggrin

I agree with what harry says, there is no set timescale for these things. It all comes down to your prior experience, ability to pick things up, dedication, etc.

Hi and welcome aboard. I will be starting up the A+ question of the day tommorow as i now have new material (at last!).

As already said, there is no time scale. All i will say is read, read, practice and take lots of test sims. Best of luck :thumbleft

Hi dravalanche - welcome to CF. As you can see, it's not a question that can be answered easily - you really need to find your own pace. But it is very do-able with the right preparation.

One thing - avoid braindumps from the start. Do it on your own merit. :)
