I was looking for some mind mapping software last night and came across this free software which rocks! FreeMind check it out, it's lightweight, written in Java, it's certainly commercial quality but at a great price. Useful for brainstorming.

I agree. I really like Freemind. I have always had a terrible time writing highly structured content as I just don't seem to be able to create outlines very well. I've always just written my stuff, and then created outlines from what I've written when outlines were required. With Freemind I can create a really useful outline and modify it until its just the way I want it so quickly it's amazing.

It's a huge time saver and really improves my writing ability as it makes it possible for me to create content structure as never before.
