So im sitting the big one tomorrow morning at 10:30.

Having just looked at the transcender demo (cant afford the full version), and goin by what Luddym said was in the exam im now starting to panic....Seems like alot of what i reviesed isnt in it lol. I know the OSI, topologies and physical bits but am weak on the protocols, apples and wireless. I have tried to learn them but it just dosent seem to sink in much. And as trandcenders software seemed so different from the exam cram and learnkey questions i've been using im now thinking i made a mistake...

So was wondering has anyone got any last minute tips i can do to help cram for the morning.. as it is i prob wont sleep..... The g/f has told me to stay down here on the sofa so she can sleep lol.

Hey Twizz, best of luck tommorow.

About wireless, I'd say don't worry too much about anything else expect the very basics. The frequency which each one works on, and the speeds.

IEEE 802.11a uses the 5.0GHZ frequency band with Max speed of 54Mbps
IEEE 802.11b uses the 2.4GHZ frequency band with Max speed of 11Mbps
IEEE 802.11g uses the 2.4GHZ frequency band with Max speed of 54Mbps

Know that Wireless Uses CSMA/CA - Which is Collision Avoidance.

As a side note Ethernet uses CSMA/CD - Wich is Collision Detection.

Ohh, and remember when you should use a crossover cable, and when you should use a straight cable.

Uhm . . . . don't wanna add anything else into it sooooo late on.

yeah i think i got that.. i remeber it as b&G same freq but A&G same speed.......

I think whats made me panic is the differnce in thr transcender demo questions to the learnkey master exam questions i used to practice with... Transcenders seemed more in depth.....

Maybe its just a lack of confidence lol.. will study all nite if i have to.. I AM GOING TO PASS!!!

cant offer much advice as i havent taken the exam but what i can say is learnkey questions are far from the real thing.. i think transcenders would be much closer. If you know your stuff which (im sure you do after being n+ champion in our questions) then you have nothing to worry man! Keep cool and dont cram too much otherwise you will panic! :(

Go out there and make it 2 in a week! Oh and dont forget the champions lunch - KFC afterwards!

Best of luck mate and make us proud! :thumbleft

Good luck mate, I am sure you will do well, the Transcenders are more often than not, pitched slightly above the difficulty of the actual exam, which is why they are good.

Oh well what a bad day so far......
Didnt sleep then almost over slept when i did nod off at 6 this morning.... Kids played up..... car broke down on way back from exam (need new cam belt) had to join RAC to get towed home.....

And the exam was tougher than expected.... not many questions on ethernet, token ring standards, not many on wireless...... a few on Net fault finding programs such as ipconfig, netstat etc but worded in a confusing way with no result print out shown...... and lots on TCP/IP protocol SUITE (not just tcp/ip) and quite a few on apples and security...

All i can say to anyone taking it soon.. concentrate more on the TCP/IP suite. Know it inside out, right side in, backwards, forwards, upside down, right side up and slant ways... make sure you dream it, eat it and live it!!!!!

God it was hard, ididnt feel the questions flowed for me very well, they were all over the place, one on topologies followed by one on appletalk followed by one on ipconfig....... And they werent short questions either but 3 or 4 lines........

 :( OW MY BRAIN HURTS NOW!!!

O and yes i did pass but only just witha 576  still a pass is a pass i spose.
