Just found the site and logged in, hoping you can all point me in the right direction and help me through the minefield of computing.

Background mixed degree of computing and geology, background mainly pc support within oil/gas industry. Now working for as GIS and IT manager, sounds official, but company only got a dozen people working in it.

Map generation is very busy, so don't spend anywhere near as would like working on our server. An SBS 200 system. Odd workers at Houston, Aberdeen and AUS. And London office staff often offsite. Always seems to be problems there.

Also little time for Proactive work, always seems to be reactive, sure you will all agree how damaging some people can be when working at their pc.......

Looking at where should be going forward.

    Hope to touch base sometime.
    Cheers
    Neil

Cheers for everyone who said hi (doesn't mean the beers are on me...).

On the serious side, I have taken charge of a SBS 2000 System, only about a dozen users, but mainly offsite. Company has offered me some time and money to upgrade/expand my knowledge. Looking for good courses to advance, don't know if needs to MCP/MSCE or some shorter quick training.

Can be at a training cente or remote, just want peoples suggestions on what should be looking at mabe where.

    Cheers again all
    Neil
