I voted "oh hell yeah" on the grounds that once again they are pushing the boundries, I admit that there are a few minor issues but I find I can live with them, the multiplayer games are fun and can add alot of playing time to the game.

The one true game I find that is worthy of a 10/10 and has little to nothing to blemish it is Final Fantasy VII tho.

Well its a slightly more realistic storyline and I find myself actually liking Niko as a character compaired to some of the OTT and unrealistic BS that came with previous characters in the series.

there's alot of intricate little details in the game that make it enjoyable, the small details made in the enviroments like people stopping to tie shoe laces and taking a chopper across the city is breathtaking to say the least.

Having a mobile phone and allowing the character to actually socialise is a good thing compaired to the other's in the series.

Changing the wanted level system is a good thing for the game and the police are a hell of alot harder to escape from seems as they take the "shoot first arrest later" stance.

The idea of having the car die if it takes enough damage is a good touch as well.

for me these are whats pushing the boundries.. its making the game more realistic and likeable... Kind of what they are doing with the Bond and Batman franchise.. less cheese more grit!
    :D

But then again its just a marmite scenario.. you either love it or hate it :biggrin

I remember they explode, but on #4 the engine cuts out and the car is then useless

I suppose if you isolate the term "pushing the boundaries" to suit GTA series soely, then i guess yea...they are pushing the boundaries...but as far as im concerned, they have really just taken snippets from different games...ie: crackdown/saints row/gears of war type cover and implemented.
On the bigger picture in terms of "pushing the boundaries".....isee nothing new.

I must admit however that, the little things as you mentioned are the things that are making this game speacil to me atm. How people say thanks with a hand gesture when u give them way...lol.

    They cut out and die?
Oh COME ON there was nothing more fulfilling than making it half a mile in a flaming car you knew was about to pop and jumping from the drivers seat just in time to see it blow the fook up!

arriving at a curb and slowing to a halt does not have the same effect if you ask me ;)

Dont wory that still happens :biggrin

Its more if you drive into a pillar or corner of a building and make a dent and knackers the engine that it cuts out and dies.. constant police bullets and abuse still causes it to catch fire

I really like this game, I've played pretty much all of the GTA games and I am liking this one the most so far. The city is huge and so many different places to explore. New features like the cell are a nice touch. Plus I find my self playing around the city a lot without doing any missions. It's the type a game that if you're board you can play for hours.

Mighta been GTA3... but in any case, the cell has existed previously. :) For example, how could your girlfriends call you in GTA:SA without it? :)

GTA2 had the phone calls come in whilst you were stealing cars, but the cell phone was introduced in GTA3.

True, I remember that, but I don't think the usage of the cell was to the same extent as it is now, then I again I never really got far in the game so if it changed somewhere down the line I wouldn't know. But I see your point Michael. :biggrin

Speaking of which, I just got my self an email address in game lol, honestly it's a fun game to play.
