Spell better than above ? :tongue

Seriously, you'll need to have reliable hosting (webspace) that you can point your domain name at, and possibly some email addresses to go with it if need be.

I'm no great web designer (well, not at all, actually), but for a professional looking site, you'll need some decent skills. Are you going to be using a forum like this ? Then you'll need a database, so most likely looking into learning about MySQL and how to administer it (have a look at www.phpmyadmin.net )

I'm sure there are a ton of other things to consider, but as I said, this isn't an area I'm up on, but hopefully some more advice will follow soon :)

    hey man,

yeah, i actually have my own commercial porno site!
(although, i've yet to make any cash, just can't get the traffic.)

If you wanna make money and get traffic, think affiliate programs,
think high converting sites. Make sure you keep records of everything, this will be a business afterall.

I managed to find, good, cheap hosting and domain; £30.00p
for a whole year, that's £15 for the domain name and £15 for the web space check it out:http://www.digital-crocus.com/

Good luck man, hope it all goes better than mine, although i need to be less lazy. try and use a gantt chart. I find they help
    keep things on track.

    Cheers for that Nailbomb

The site and name you have, do you get charged for too many people visitibg causing your site to crash ?? Ivew been told to watch out for that , alosnothing less than 250 mb of webspace is a realistic minimum?? Plus if you want me to have a look at your site for you and give you some feed back youll have to let me know what its called

to be honest i'd rather you not look, as it's a pile of crap.
the thing with my site is that it simply creates money through
affiliate programs. everytime an add on one of my pages gets
    clicked etc.

with it being in the 'adult' sector, all i really need on there are
pics and videos free clips etc. these are hosted by my affiliate
partners so it doesn't use my bandwidth. I don't really know what you want to use your site to sell, so have no idea of the spec you
    need!

if you need to store lots of files, you'll need to work out how much
space you need to fit them and then some.

if you plan on allowing downloads, live streaming that sorta stuff
then you need to make a rough approximation of how much band
    width you need.

At the end of it all, most web hosting services are more likely to
just charge you for going over bandwidth, or give you a warning
than just cut you off straight away.

    me personally,

the only revenue, i'm getting is free porn :biggrin
but on a serious note that is simply because i have
absolutely no money to put into marketing, paying
    for search engine ranking etc.

My site could be doing a lot better just that i wish
id decided to use it for college as opposed to
the adult industry, on the whole it is a good conversation
    piece.
