I studied Information Systems at uni, but since having left I've found my career has gone off in a different direction.

But throughout I have always had a keen interest in all things PC related, and quite a good working knowledge. I suppose I'm more of a 'Jack of all Trades' rather than having any specific qualifications or areas of specialisation.

I would now like to formally get some industry recognised qualifications under my belt, and would like to do some freelance PC support, mostly for Home users.

I've already been doing this part time, but I feel if I get a few "proper" qualifications under my belt I would be more marketable.

Should I be starting out with something like CompTIA A+ ?

Greetings, Maldini44. Welcome to CertForums. :)

Just a word to the wise...I think you also posted the same info in the A+ forum. You don't have to create duplicate posts. One is usually sufficient. :wink

Well on the advice of a lot of the posts and resources on here, I went out and bought Mike Myers' "All in One A+ Certification Exam Guide" this morinng, and am already trudging through some of the early chapters.

Anyways, great site, which I'm glad I've found, and will most certainly be using to pick a few of your brains over the ensuing months.

    Watch this space.......... :p
