Firstly as a previous lurker, who has now come into the light!, I'd like to thank the forum members whose posts guided me into the self-study route, and saved me a bundle in the process.
I've got a job as desktop support / PC tech, working in a Server / Exchange 2003 & XP Pro environment, so I'm going down the MCP > MCSA >>> MCSE route.

I've been reading Meyer's A+ book for a few months, but as my employer prefers Microsoft certs, I won't be taking the exam. TBH as a previous system builder, 90% of the A+ was already known to me, however knowledge is precious and the 10% (mostly networking & printers) was well worth the price of the book, it's also given me a taste for the Network+, what can I say, I'm a geek!

Anyhow, this introduction is dragging on in true Mr Shakey Hand Man stylee, so adieu.

    Joe

Remember, Joe, the purpose of certification isn't to learn new things... it is to show an employer what you can already do.
