Good evening all, my name's Nick and I live and work in London.

I just joined today and wanted to say Hi to everyone out there.

As a side note, my other half recently gave birth by C-Section to twin girls and they will be 12 weeks old this coming Sunday!

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know as many of you as possible :)

I should have taken at least 3 of the MCSE 2003 exams by now but procrastination wins again  anyway I have started properly now and have a schedule which I'm going to try and stick to! Looking to take the 70-270 fairly soon - end of March 2008 - and then 1 every 3 months thereafter.

Hi Nick, and welcome to the forums!

Congratulations on the twins - don't worry about the procrastination - it happens to all of us!

What kind of work do you do at the moment? Security? Sysadmin? Tea maker? :p

    Hi Arroryn!

I work for a private company on a contract at a Central Government location approx 4 mins walk from St James's tube. Basically in the middle of Victoria street.

My role is like an all-rounder if you know what I mean. We are near the end of migrating systems - from a Novell-based environment to Microsoft! I rather liked the NDS or eDirectory and all but more and more companies are moving away from Novell it would seem. My MCSE is well out of date now and never got around to doing the MCSE 2000 Track. I believe most of those exams are being retired at the end of March this year. I understand some of these 2003 exams are real tough cookies, am I right in thinking? We also have MIMESweeper and Webwasher systems in place which I work with. So right now we are using 2 systems for email - GroupWise (old system) and Outlook (new system).

What kind of work do you do? Where are you based?

Anyway, nice to hear from you and look forward to catching up soon.

    Nick

You must like it, you keep encouraging me... in... such nice ways  :dry

    Hey Nick

Sounds like a whole bundle of work on your hands, as well as the new arrivals! Good luck to you - it's not so much as procrastinating on the MCSE, as being unable to cram it all in the day!

I work as a first line supervisor for a national law firm, but I tend to tread on the toes of second line doing various AD work and data room construction, etc. We also use MIMESweeper - seems to be quite effective, though I have no experience with managing it - just not letting users have their interesting spam!

I'm not personally sure on the difficulty of the MCSE exams - I'm on the CCNA myself at the moment, and will probably look to certify on the MCTS track after that, and maybe dabble in project management. Have a mooch around our Microsoft area on the boards - you should be able to find bucketloads of info!

    Greetings, Nick. Welcome to CertForums.

I have twins as well, though they're boys and now 21 years old. I know everything that's about to happen to you and the best advice I ever got when the boys were born was that if I lived through the first year, I'd be ok. Turns out to be true.
