I'd have to say that 2011 will definitely be the year where I start getting my metaphorical "house" in order.

    Personal Goals:
    - Adopt healthier lifestyle (if weight comes off, so be it)
    - Get hitched with my special someone.
    - Enjoy life more
    - Finish associate's (or Foundation as you guys know it) degree. Two English classes away from that one.
    - Decide which IT degree to pursue. Choice between IT systems management or security (thoughts?)

    Professional/Cert Goals:
    - Achieve MCDST and MCP 70-270 before the end of the year.
    - Become more proficient in my craft, staying current on new technologies, etc.
    - FINALLY get linux installed and learn ins and outs.
    - Secure a tier 2/3 job again.

We shall see how it goes but the plan is (in random order):

    - 70-667: SharePoint 2010 Configuring
    - 70-662: Exchange 2010 Configuring
    - Security+
    - ICND2 to upgrade CCENT to CCNA
    - top up one of my MCTS to MCITP
    - Prince2

    :blink

    WIP: Uhmm... not sure

    Highest Priority

    • MCDST (70-270, 70-271)
    • MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, Configuring (70-236)
    • MCTS: SharePoint 2007, Configuration (70-630)
    • CompTIA Linux+, LPIC-1 (LX0-101, LX0-102)
    Medium Priority

    • MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician & MCTS: Windows Vista, Configuration (via. 70-261 upgrade exam)
    • MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician 7 (via. 70-682 upgrade exam)
    Low Priority

    • MCSA (70-290, 70-291)
    • MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration & MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration (via. 70-648 upgrade exam)
I'm going to leave any Cisco qualifications until at least next year, and study through the OU. Why? If I study through the OU it's worth 1/6th of an honours degree!

Remember Gav, that LPIC-1 also entitles you to Novell Certified Linux Professional for free.

Anyway, I was planning JNCIA and CCNA but I don't feel I would benefit from these exams at this current time. I need to work further on MS technologies especially concentrating on 2008 server/AD. I see the demand in the market is far higher for the latter especially for someone with no hands on experience with Cisco kit. The CCNA I will continue to work through but at a slow pace hopefully putting me in a position to sit at the years end.

    Immediate goals:

70-620 MCTS Vista, Config (I've had the study materials sitting here since 2008 so I may as well use them)Plenty of experience with Vista and after all it's an extra string to the bow... be it a slightly frayed one ;)

    70-640 MCTS 08 Active Directory
70-642 MCTS Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring
70-646 MCITP Windows Server 2008, Server Administrator

That pretty much makes the CompTIA Linux+ the ultimate Linux certification then, as it entitles you to the LPIC-1 for free!

By the end of this year i hope to:

Have an MCTS in Server 2008 R2, Active directory, infrastructure & application infrastructure
Start working towards MCITP: Enterprise Administrator and have maybe a couple of exams out of the way for that one.

And also to save a bit more cash to buy a new ZX6R

Out of curiosity, what study materials did you get? If Sybex, I'll sign it for ya. 8)

If not Sybex, I'll just sit around and pout a bit. :biggrin

I'm sticking to some of my goals. I'm posting, so clearly haven't drank myself to death AND logging on to the forums to do it. So +1 there :)

Lost a stone and a half of the lager weight so far, stone and a half to go, which shouldn't be too tricky.

And maybe I'll find some unlucky bugger to love this year. If not, oh well, quite enjoying being single and not having anyone to chase around after! :D
