Well, after insanely enormous amounts of years, I finally, FINALLY booked my first cert exam. I have the A+ Essentials booked for April 1st (I might reschedule it depending on how well things are going). Let's hope I'm don't leave the exam as the fool and I pass it! :)

Thanks all! :) I guess I have an added bonus that I've been working in IT for many years now. Currently as a field technician. So hopefully my real world experience and extra study will help lots.

I'm hitting the books furiously and tinkering in the lab lots. Even went and checked out where I am taking the exam so I can get there on time. When I checked the place out the lady there was kind enough to show me around and show me the exam room. This I thought was very good as I now know pretty much what to expect in terms of the environment I'll be in etc.

Oh and tripwire, I have a copy of your book on the way which i'm sure will be made use of! Oh and if I don't pass I'm blaming it on you! Hehehehe. :daz

Thanks a million. I hope my previous comment did not mislead though, by 'many years' I mean about 4 or 5 years on and off. It's all really self study, I got offered work based on what I've learned myself (I have no real formal qualifications, certainly no IT ones anyway).

Hopefully all will go well though. From the various assessment tests I've tried out already, I'm not doing too badly, though I can see clearly where my knowledge gaps are.

    Fingers crossed! :)

Good luck with the exam. The whole point of self tests etc is to highlight your weak points so you can study correctly. April the 1st? your a brave man :p
