Technical Design Authority?

I have started a new role today where I am the Technical Lead on a new DPM \ SCCM installation.

My first job is to implement DPM 2010 and once that's implemented I need to deploy SCCM alongside the local IT engineers.

All of this is based on my design but obviously with their input.

I am not too sure how to sign the documentation

but I don't know if it should be Architect, Solutions Architect or Technical Design Authority.

What are your views?

Job titles are so far fetching and varied these days that quite often no one cares. Either that or they are so meaningless to the job that you do that they are irrelevant anyway!

I took my Job title off my email ages ago, now I just have:

Simon G
Company Name
0123 45678

Yep, that should just about cover it.

 

He should have "BosonMichael" as his job title. It's simply that awesome.

 

My job title is Supreme Commander.

You can borrow it, if you like.

 

If you want to use a job title, why not use the one your company gave you?

If they didn't give you one, make one up.
I went through a phase of making up pretentious job titles depending on who I was talking to.
It was fun for a while, then got boring.

Word of warning though, you can't win against the Americans so don't play the game.

It's really off-putting when you get an email from:

"Jay Nixon Ford III (Jnr)
Lead product development consultant, technical design Vice President's division, sustainable resource evangelist and chairman of the company softball team."

 

Thats what it say on my signature anyway, it may be unoriginal but it means as much as my actual job title.

 

Just like Chuck Norris, there can be only one BosonMichael.

 

The Highlander is scared of Chuck Norris.

 

And Chuck Norris is scared of BM.

 

We know your scared of blemishes and broken nails.

 

I put 'El Jefe' for grins.

 

Remember your American history: the Texas Rangers had to call on the assistance of the Volunteers of Tennessee to get the job done.

 

And mismatching murses and bangles.

 

Pay attention, then... you're seeing history unfold on a daily basis.
