The latest Mike Meyers A+ study guide? Where is it available - I looked in my local Waterstones and they didn't do it. I don't know exactly what it's called and how much it costs but I want the most recent study pack with the books, CD roms and mock exams.

    All help appreciated.

    Thanks

    Alex

    Hi,

Yes I have but I'm not sure which one I should buy. Is the latest book the 3rd edition?

Sorry forgot to ask.... Would the Mike Meyers book be all I'd need to pass the exam or would I require further material?

some people say its good to get the passport one aswell, and then when you feel your ready, there are some intereactive questons on the cd provided my MM to test you...

but sometimes, thats not enough, you need more self examinating questions.

i recommend Transcenders (pricey) but then there are other ones aswell, which are cheaper - have a look in the A+ forum for these...

    Hope this helps...

CheekMaster we're fast becomming good friends. Thanks for your help, what you and others do on this forum is absolutely brilliant. You really don't know how much it helps having people such as yourself passing on their expertise.

    keep up the good work

    Alex,

I purchased the All in one and the passport. My opinion is if you have the All in one, dont worry about the passport.
    Transcender is excellent exam prep.

    Hi

The new Mike Meyers book should be out Nov/Dec time. I work for the guys that publish it, and so far as I know, the content is not drastically different from the last edition. There seems to be a bit of focus on things like 'customer care' (which apparently is very important) but I have been advised to keep going through the current edition, and then just get the new info from the latest edition and take that to the exam with me. I propbably won't be sitting mine before the new objectives, but I'm a good chunk through the current A+ book so don't want to stop now.

On another note, I've found that going through the A+ book combined with the Cram Sessions (which are free, incidentally) are working well (we'll find out for sure when I finally sit my exams though) CompTIA also offer test questions, and you get more test questions with the books too.
