Ok, you want emotional, you got it !

Tomorrow, the young 5-year-old Yoko starts her first day at Primary School. Her wee uniform is hanging up all ready for the morning, her bag is packed, and Missus J and I have spent the day getting everything else ready, and trying to keep her calm.

I've got a lump in my throat the size of a bowling ball, but unfortunately, I won't be able to get off work to see her going in, but will hopefully be able to get back in time to see her come out !

I don't know where the 5 years have gone up till now, but this is her biggest step yet .... still, got to do it !!!

I just thought I'd post this, as I know a bunch of you have kids of your own, or young family close by, so you'll know what I'm meaning.

Oh well, I'll report back after the event :bigcry

    Hi Gav

I know what you mean. My kids are 12 and 9 and I can still remember their first day at school. Both my and my wife had lumps in our throats and a tear in our eyes. It does seem silly but as you know, it is a big step in the kids lives (and the parents). I'm sure your little one will have a whale of a time and make lots of new "friends"!!!

Enjoy this time as well as the time you had her at home. Helping them learn to read and write can be very frustrating and extreamly rewarding.

I'm sure she'll be fine, it's us parents that seem to worry.

    Best wishes

    Andrew

Thanks for that Andrew ! Suffice to say that at 9:15 this morning, I was just glad I was well out of the way at work - I'd have been a wreck !!! :P

She was fine, a few tears, but that was it ! Typically, the conversation when I got home was along the lines of :

So what did you do today, then ?
    "Oh, nothing"

What was the first thing your teacher said to you ?
    "Don't know"

Who else did you play with ?
    "Can't remember"

Aah, don't you love it when they're so forthcoming ??? :lilangel
