    Title says it all! 5/1000 = 0.5%

Licking my wounds now, although I like to think of it as more of a papercut. Retaking next Saturday and will revise and practice like crazy.

What did it was the simulation, I did it and got it working and saved the config, checked, double checked but it took about 20-25 mins for me to do that. After that I had less time and lots of questions so I 'raced' through and finished with about 1 min to spare, I was worried I'd get another big simulation question thankfully I didn't.

Cisco say on the prep centre website that they are also challenging your time management skills with the exam, they really weren't joking.

The tutorial said not to spend more that 10 minutes on the sim questions- that's where hands on skills really are a must I cannot stress that enough to anyone taking the exam, know the IOS commands and how to do all the required tasks very quickly, know how to get around routers and switches and find the answers to help you complete the task required. Otherwise you'll end up taking too long, then looking at the clock and not giving yourself enough time to thoroughly read and double check all your theory questions.

It's once more unto the breach for me next Saturday!

Am gutted for you so close. What was your score breakdown? I was lucky in my last exam as the sim was last so I had plenty of time to spend on the sim. All the best for the re-take.

I think Cisco's definition of "technology" will be the key point.

yeap alot of people score poorly on that. SO from your scores you did ok in the sim.

The technology side of things covers:

    Technology
    • Describe network communications using layered models
    • Describe the Spanning Tree process
    • Compare and contrast key characteristics of LAN environments
    • Evaluate the characteristics of routing protocols
    • Evaluate TCP/IP communication process and its associated protocols
    • Describe the components of network devices
    • Evaluate rules for packet control
    • Evaluate key characteristics of WANs

Maybe some of those spanning tree questions caught you out. They caught me out as well

Yeah I solved the sim I just took too long about it.

I had to use my everyday troubleshooting skills to figure it out- thank GOD I knew how to get around the IOS, the guy in the booth next to me was getting quite perplexed by my furious typing, I could sense it hehe. Poor b*stard was probably trying to remember his brain dump lol

There were a lot of STP questions, and VTP as well- there I was all prepared to disable split horizon on a frame-relay multilink sub interface and I got blind sided by a goddam switch...
