    Hi,

I was just wondering if I was right in thinking that if I pass the 70-682 exam do I then only have to take the 70-686 exam to attain the Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7 certification (so basically the 70-682 acts as the 70-680)?

    Thanks,

    D

Do you have the MCDST or the EDST Vista certification first of all?

If you have the MCDST, the only exam you need to take is the 70-686 to get the MCITP.

That's only half of it, you'll still need either the 70-680 or the 70-682 (as that gives you the MCTS: Windows 7 Config prerequisite).

    See here :)

Sorry, I think I confused myself here...

MCDST + 70-682 = MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician 7

    MCDST + 70-682 + 70-686 = MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician 7 + MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7

    :-)

    Hi,

Thanks for the replies. So, if I understand things correctly, if I pass the 70-682 and then pass the 70-686 I will have the following certifications:

    MCTS: Windows 7, Configuration
MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician on Windows 7
MCITP: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Administrator

Also, sorry to ask another question but does passing the 70-682 count towards any exam that would need 70-680 or 70-686 (such as the MCITP: Enterprise Administrator)?

    Thanks,

    D

I'm not sure whether you actually get the 'MCTS: Windows 7, Configuration' certification, but you certainly get credit for it. So yes, once you've taken 70-682, you can use that as the client elective for the EA exam.
