So, I've got the MS Press books (which are a bit... thin), a VMware environment to do the practical server work on, and CBT nuggets. I've heard bad things about this new generation of MS books and I can see why. The text isn't exactly lacking, but we'll see how completely they cover their subject matter when I take the exam itself :/

    How's everyone else's 2K12 journey going?

    Good Luck Dawn!

Given up on the pursuit of certs myself, but I have once briefly looked at Server 2012. Does that count?

lol yes it counts :) doing it for work, so not voluntary as such.

One grump I have - only on page 30 of the MS book and they've already used the word "paradigm" 3 times. Erk.

Passed the 71-411 (beta) exam, but since then my 70-410 studies have slowed down. Been using it at work though, deployed a few host & virtual 2012 servers, upgraded a domain/forest to 2012, installed Exchange 2010 SP3 on 2012 and currently working on upgrading our Citrix VDI solution hosts that's on 2008 r2 to 2012.

Hopefully will also be taking the 410 exam at the end of May, but we'll have to see...

    I'll race you to it.

Really getting sick of the word "paradigm" now. It's all over the CBT nuggets too!

Good luck mate, it sounds like you've got everything you need to pass along with your experience of course. I feel really bad because I've started an MCSE 2012 thread but haven't had the time to devote to it. I've been doing 100 hour weeks recently so lucky I'm even writing this at the moment. It is calming down now tho so I'll be back with a vengeance. There's a discussion I want to have with you all actually so I'll get that lobbed on here ASAP. Sorry I'm really going off on a tangent aren't I. Kick its butt Dawn, we know you can do it.

One thing I'd say is if you can, brush up on your powershell, only if you can and have time. It's hard to say more because of the NDA but I don't think I'm out of order for saying knowing a little PS can help for any 2012 exam as its clear to see MS have really went for it in 2012, offering us an option to export the powershell for what we've just done on loads of administrator tasks.

TheProf - I'm considering it, but might take a quick break from studies to finish a novel I'm writing :)

Nailed the son of a motherfudger this morning. CBT Nuggets, the two MS Press official books, a test lab and bucketloads of Server 2K8 experience (along with a sadistic love of powershell) all combined beautifully this morning.

Within the realms of the NDA, if you're an experienced 2K8 admin and just brush up on the newer bits and pieces, this one should be a cinch.

    Onwards and upwards!

Congrats Arroyn. If I get some time in the near future I'm thinking of studying for this one myself.

Anyone tried the Boson Practice product for the 410? I'd be more interested in just an exam simulator, but doesn't look like they have one yet.
