As per other posts recently, I've come across a sizable (20+) stash of laptop hard drives - apart from giving them away (thought I'd get that one in before anyone else does!), any one got any great ideas on what we can use them for?

Someone suggested, chucking them in RAID or NAS box - considering the chat recently about ML115 I was thinking a mini version of this?

Yeah you could RAID them, generally though laptop drives are designed for ruggedness and power saving, they probably will not perform well.

I would go for the raid idea as well, my only concern would be the raid controller, are these sata or pata? because if they are pata then all those cables will be a royal PITA.

Another thing obviously is size, are they all the same size?
