Exchange 2010 logon failure

Hi,

I've installed exchange 2010 just to test it and I have a problem with authetnhication, I'm getting "wrong user/password details" error, I've tested with thunderbird like also web based outlook 'OWA'.

Please help me to configure it as everything was fine with exchange 2003 version but this version it's not working.
There is only default certificate is that fine or should I create the new one?

Thunderbird detecting all the settings but fail with authentications, please see screen shots below:

Try putting the username in the format domain\username.

Also have you enabled webmail and IMAP on the Admin account?

I tried this before and even created another account and still no luck.
I changed the authentication to plain text and didn't help

Exchange 2003 worked straight from the box there was only mesage that connection is not authenticated but I don't know what is wrong with 2010

Did you put in VPS\administrator as the username?

Have you tried restarting all of the Exchange services? I take the admin account has IMAP enabled for it?

I restarted all services and admin has enabled IMAP, I found this:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...CHG.80%29.aspx

and this:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...CHG.80%29.aspx

- so I tried with diffrent user but still no luck and I cannot find this settings from the link above:

To resolve this warning, verify that the account that is specified in the event text has the MS-Exch-SMTP-Submit permission assigned to it on the appropriate Receive connectors on the Hub Transport server or Edge Transport server.

Hi,

Thx for help.

I've managed to create account in thunderbird for another user and didn't get any authentication errors but I'm not sure if it works as I cannot sent or recive emails, looks like server is rejecting:
Quote:
The error that the other server returned was: 530 530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated (state 13).
I have enough for now and I will check this later ;)

Regards

Check this out, it's my post on our Exchange 2010 deployment. Not sure if it's the same error as you were getting, but it may help
