Passed!
Passed the N+ this week, scored 830!

I used:

The Mike Meyers Network+ AIO fourth edition
Transcender practice exams
Mike Meyer Passport book for some extra revision.

Plus of course my own experience having been working in IT professionally for 3 years and playing with computers for almost my entire life.

So, what advice can I offer up having completed this shiny new edition of the CompTIA Network+? Major areas to make sure you've really beefed up your knowledge are authentication and encryption along with the usual OSI model and IP subnetting which were a staple of the previous edition.

A lot of the Network+ exam comes down to memory; ports, acronyms, protocols all these things need to be firmly embedded in your mind.

The help and advice I've received on this forum has been invaluable in my study, so many thanks to all!

Stating my goals for 2010 was just getting embarrassing.... Goals for the next 10 minutes:

Cup of tea
maintain sanity
analyse spam

Congrats ! and thanks for the advise on what topics to look for in the. Just a quick Q can you take any items at the exam, what I mean is a pen and blank paper to calculate some of the A's and specially a calculator for the subnetting Qs
