It's a great way to make money for doing stupid sh1t

take a look at the user 'howtobasic' - he's got millions of subscribers and all he does is smash the crap out of his kitchen and throw eggs and make weird noises, and i think he's awesome

If you do start getting some considerable amount of views, go into your account settings to enable monetization - this is where the cash comes from. Ad's are then enabled on your video's, and by some algorithm they pay you a percentage of either views or clicks.

I uploaded a clip of gogglebox that i found funny, got around 26k views - but that's nothing compared to major ones.

 

I have done the odd technical one if I think a blog post requires it, none of them get masses of views but then I'm not bothered about earning directly from blogs or YT vids etc.

But to answer your question - no, I doth not have my own YouTube channel.

One of my close friends though is a drummer and he created his own channel of him recording covers. Did pretty well out of it in terms of exposure and now he's endorsed by a couple of well known drum brands and has been asked to do video reviews on some of their new products.

 

Best video on You tube bar none is this little gem! You'll be so pleased you spent time watching it, as it will save you a lot of time going forward! Trust me!
