I have 2 hard drives in my comp. one with a corrupted XP Home Edition installed, and one partitioned into 2 disk with a copy of Vista on each (don't even ask How i got into this state)

XP is on the C: drive so I have numerous problems when installing software on my vista partitions, default installs onto C: instead of E: etc etc.

IF I completely wipe all three drives, what is the process of installing Vista Upgrade edition ? Will I have to buy the full vista edition ? can I enter my XP Product Key ?

As far as I understand if you have an upgrade version of an OS then you must have an OS already to be upgraded.

So you must reinstall xp then Vista.

Not sure about Vista as i havent tried it.

All previous versions of Windows from Win 95, you do not need to have the earlier OS installed, you will be prompted to insert the *media* of the older OS at some point in the new OS install process.
