    Hi,

I need to delete a user account in XP Home. Does anyone know what will be deleted if I do this?

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

It will delete everything that user has created; profile, my doc's etc. Any particular reason? Might be better off disabling it.

There are two user accounts on this computer both with administrator priviliges. AOL works fine in one profile, but not in the other. I created a new test user account and AOL works fine in that profile. So, it looks as if something may have become corrupted in the account that cannot run AOL. I thought I would delete that account and create another for the user.

    AOL Alert!

Back-up any of the users docs, e-mails etc (no encryption with XP home), and nuke!

    Hi Simon,

I suppose if I back up c:\documents and settings\user profile\*.* nothing will be missed, except emails, but that doesn't matter, as she uses AOL.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi,

A lot of that won't be required. In fact, you may well carry the problem over.

I would just back up the "my doc's", desktop items (not shortcuts), and IE/Firefox favourites.
