Well thats not bad...still mine wins hands down lol...mine came with Nero 7...but I installed Nero 8 instead...my graphics dont share the RAM and I think mine came with 128MB for the graphics...but since I only play Matrix Online on it...it plays it well with all the settings set to high...still I love it and it does well with Vista Home Premium on it :biggrin

Its not my dream laptop, or it would have came with a 17 inch screen.:biggrin
But we were working with a very tight budget so I think it is quit nice for the money and Im very happy with it so far. I love the sleek smooth feel of it. I was having a little trouble with the keyboard at first because it is bigger and wider but I've got that down now too. And 15.4 screen has me spoiled already. Didn't take long did it. :D While she not the beast that the my desktop is she will hold her own for what I need. I'm just loving it. I don't use mine for games or music either so the hdd is way more then I'll ever use. I have yet to even fill up a 20 gig drive let alone 120. So far she seems to be handling Dreamweaver with no prombles which is what I wanted her for. So over all I am a happy laptop owner!:biggrin Congrats on your lappy to Noelg.

Great news Mitzs, that is the perfect laptop for you. No need to spend extra on hardware that won't be used if you are not into games. That would be like buying a racing car to go shopping in.. pointless.

XP Home is also perfectly ok for home use. You can't remote into it but then again, with a laptop, i wouldnt suggest you left it on when you were not actually there with it. so no real need for XP Pro.

Thank you Blue and everyone else too!:D I'm proud of her. And since I don't remote anything but the TV, XP home is fine specially since I already have the pro version on blue boy. If I need to do anything heavy it will be on him. I have to admit he is one of my pride and joys. And thought I was going to have fight for him when my brother and sister inlaw went back home a couple of weeks ago. :biggrin However, he doesn't have any children yet and thought the family jewels might come in handy down the road.

Is it too late to change the OS to XP? I am not sure how many games will play on Vista, and the OS will consume most of the resources just to run the OS. You will need more RAM for gaming anyways, as some of it is used by the graphics in this model.

Sorry to sort of rain on your parade like that, but Microsoft is selling an OS that is too bloated for a reasonably priced computer. :(

Area, so far am loving mine. Not to sure how well it will do with gaming though. You were braver then me. I was not willing to take on vista when I can still have xp.:)
My router died lastnight, but a new one is on its way from newegg. I've been working in dreamweaver on it and seems to be handling it fine. I have one fav soap show that I watch on it every night and it doesn't lag or anything while playing.

What are you going to school for if you don't mind me asking?

Pfft. Vista is slower than XP with regards to gaming, but it's somewhere on the order of 5 to 10 percent slower... it's nowhere near as bad as you're making it out to be. 2GB of RAM and that processor will be just fine for gaming.

That video card, however, is another matter entirely... an X1150 isn't designed for gaming.

With minor exceptions, Vista will run just about every game designed to run on Windows XP.
