With the recent video about wireless attacks, i was wondering how effective the physical switch for the <wireless> on the side of my Toshiba Tecra Laptop is.
I have installed the latest driver from Intel for my Centrino chipset, but does anyone know (or have a guess!) if this new flaw could overide the switch?
I would have said no, but would like any other thoughts.

As far as I know no details have been released yet about that recent attack.

However - my personal view of WiFi is not to allow *any* access in situations that are even slightly sensitive. I'll use it for inconsequential stuff - but when bank related stuff is involved, or work related, then I won't use it without being very sure of the environment.

    Harry,

Yeah, it seems very cloak and dagger at the moment.

I agree- I don't mind using wireless for casual browsing, but that is about it.
